Country Mart
Country Mart keeps copies of their coupon policy in the store lobby on a rack with sales ads. An extra policy on doubling can be found online and conflicts slightly with the printed policy. I suggest carrying a printed copy from the store and internet to avoid confusion and of course, check the printed policy on the rack often to see if it has changed.
General
- Expired coupons, photocopied coupons or coupons for items not carried in our store will not be accepted.
-Valid internet coupons will be accepted. We reserve the right to limit or reject internet coupons.
-The number of coupons cannot exceed the number of items in the transaction, nor can the value of the coupons exceed the current purchase price, no cash back will be given and it will not be applied to the remaining balance of the transaction.
-Customers must pay sales tax as required by state law
-Coupons cannot be exchanged for cash or gift cards
-Coupons should have a scannable bar code.
-All coupons must be redeemed for item(s) indicated on the coupon and presented to the cashier with the item(s) being purchased.
-We reserve the right to limit the number of coupons.
Multiple Coupons
-Only one valid manufacturer and one valid Country Mart coupon can be accepted for the purchase of a single item. If the coupons' combined value is greater than the purchase price, no cash back will be given and it will not be applied to the remaining balance of the transaction.
-For in-store coupons valued at a flat dollar amount off total purchase, the specified amount off total purchases must be attained after all other coupons and discounts have been applied.
Double Coupons
-Manufacturer coupons with a face value of $1.00 or less will be doubled when customers use their Country Mart Card. Coupons with a face value greater than $1.00 will be redeemed at face value.
-Doubling is limited to one like-item coupon per family, per day. Additional like-item coupons will be redeemed at face value.
-The doubled amount cannot exceed the current purchase price of the merchandise. If the doubled coupon's value is greater than the current purchase price, no cash back will be given and it will not be applied to the remaining balance of the transaction.
-Carbonated beverages, soda pop, cigarette, beer, retailer, in-store, free-item, and coupons stating "do not double" cannot be doubled.
Sale Items
-Valid coupons are accepted for sale items.
-The value of the coupon cannot exceed the current purchase price of the item. If the coupon's value is greater than the current purchase price, no cash back will be given and it will not be applied to the remaining balance of the transaction.
-When items are priced at Buy One Get One FREE, one coupon can be used per item, but the net purchase price cannot fall below $0.00 for the items when the coupons are applied. Only one applicable coupon can be doubled. If the coupons' combined value is greater than the current purchase price, no cash back will be given and it will not be applied to the remaining balance of the transaction.
And here is what I found online about doubling:
- Coupons that state "Coupon Not Subject To Doubling" will not be doubled
- Coupons will be doubled up to, but may not exceed, 50¢ (the printed version says up to $1 will be doubled)
- Coupons will never exceed the purchase price of merchandise
- Coupons for free merchandise will not be doubled
- Cigarette coupons are never doubled
- Expired coupons will not be redeemed
- Product must be purchased for the specific size stated on the coupon
- Coupons from Country Mart ads will be honored as stated on the coupon, this may be in addition to manufacture coupons
- Coupons from other retailers ads will not be honored
- Doubling of coupons is limited to 2 like items: additional coupons may be used for the same product but they will be redeemed at the face value of the coupon (printed version says only 1 like item coupon will be doubled. If you use the online version, be prepared to give up doubling on coupons over .50 and be prepared to have the next rule enforced)
- There is a limit of 20 coupons that may be doubled at one time: more than 20 coupons may be used but coupons over the limit of 20 will redeemed at face value only. (the printed version says nothing about this)
- Internet/Print-At-Home Coupons
- Internet coupons feature unique serial numbers printed on them and follow an industry standard format.
Coupons printed without these features will not be accepted. - We do not accept internet print-at-home coupons for free product.
- We do not accept internet print-at-home coupons valued in excess of $5.00 or 75% of the sale price of the product.
- Internet coupons feature unique serial numbers printed on them and follow an industry standard format.
Double coupon example: If a customer presents a coupon for 50¢ off, we will double the coupon, making it $1 off. If a customer presents a coupon for 51¢ off (or greater), the coupon is worth its face value of 51¢ (or greater) and will not be doubled.

CVS
While I couldn't find a copy on the CVS site I found an email that is circulating. This is what the email says:
Our registers are set to allow 1 CVS coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon per item. Free coupons or “offers at the register” (OAR’s) are unearned and issued to you as a valued member of the CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare program. These coupons take the form of “open ended” coupons such as $3 off $15 or a certain dollar amount off a specific item. In any given transaction our registers will allow only one “open ended” coupon per transaction. CVS Extra Buck coupons are earned when you make a qualifying purchase. These print out instantly at the register upon reaching the threshold for the offer. You can use more than one Extra Buck coupon provided the purchase threshold has been met for each offer amount on a per-transaction basis.
In the case where a particular item is on sale for “buy one get one free” (BOGO), you are only allowed to use one manufacturer’s BOGO coupon. For instance, if Revlon lipstick is on sale for BOGO, you can use one manufacturer’s BOGO coupon. You would get both items free and pay any applicable tax. We reserve the right to limit quantities after the first purchase. If our store is running a sale for BOGO, you can use two manufacturer’s coupons for a specific dollar amount off. For example, if Revlon lipstick is on sale at our store for BOGO, you can use two $1.00 off Revlon lipstick manufacturer coupons.
CVS/pharmacy does accept manufacturers’ coupons that have been obtained from manufacturer sponsored and/or authorized Web sites. The coupon should be complete and contain a bar code that can be scanned at the register. If the coupon does not scan, the cashier should politely inform you that we cannot accept your coupon. We do not allow manual overrides at the register for coupons printed from the Internet. CVS/pharmacy will not accept offers printed from unauthorized Internet postings or reproductions, copies, or facsimiles.
We do not accept competitors’ coupons for front store items. We feel that our sales and ExtraCare program are comparable if not better than any sales or coupons offered by our competitors. We also do not accept any expired coupons, CVS or otherwise. We do not “double” or “triple” coupons.
